REV. JOHN RICHARD WALTON, JR.

The Reverend John R. Walton, Jr. began his pastorate at Calvary Baptist Church on March 1, 2002 after serving as pastor for four years at the St. Mark Congregational Church in Boston Massachusetts.  He confessed Christ as his Lord and Savior in July, 1975 at the Avon Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio. 

He was ordained on /files/PW.LW.jpgJune 14, 1994 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Cleveland, Ohio by the United Pastors in Missions, 18 pastors affiliated with American Baptist Churches-USA, National Baptist Convention and Progressive National Baptist Convention.

His educational preparation for the ministry includes receipt of the Master of Divinity degree from Howard University Divinity School, Washington, D.C. as well as course work at Boston University School of Theology, Boston, Massachusetts.  Rev. Walton is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Ministry Program at Northern Baptist Seminary in Lombard, IL where his area of concentration is Leadership through Preaching.

He is currently serving as Chairman of the Faith Committee of the United Way’s Milwaukee Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program.  In addition, he is affiliated with PAPAS (Pastors as Partners Adopting Schools) and the Hopkins Street School Management Team.

Rev. Walton has been described as a gifted preacher with tremendous potential, a man with deep personal conviction, sincerity and dedication to the Lord, a man of integrity, faith and prayer.

Rev. Walton is a family man.  He and his wife, Mrs. Lorrie Craig Walton, are the parents of three sons - John Richard III, Daniel, Samuel and one daughter, Grace Alison.
